If you’re looking to protect your vehicle’s exterior from physical damage (like paint chips and scuffs) and add some personal touches along the way, then Paint Protection Film (PPF) is the solution for you. PPF is a durable and reliable option that will not only maintain your car’s appearance, but also its value.
PPF is a layer of flexible material placed over the exterior of a car to preserve the quality of the paint – it acts as a protective shield from possible chipping, scratches, scuffs, etc. The technology behind these films has evolved greatly over the years, allowing certain types of PPF to self-heal and provide ultraviolet ray protection (which will protect your car from fading and discoloration).
In this article, we will discuss three common types of paint protection film, as well as the customization options we offer at Tint Pros Platinum Auto Wraps.
PPF comes in a variety of different types with different benefits and price ranges. At the end of the day, all PPF types have the same goal to protect the exterior of your vehicle.
At Tint Pros, we are certified installers of high quality products designed and produced by Xpel, Premium Shield, Suntek, Lumar, GSFW, 3M, and Stek. Listed below are the three types of PPF we offer.
Instant Healing: Known as the new top-notch product, Instant Healing PPF is infused with nanotechnology (the manipulation of atoms and molecules), which instantly heals the painted surface layer from minor scratches and chips.
Self Healing: Considered the most popular, Self Healing PPF is formulated with strong top coatings that not only protect your vehicle from chips and scratches, but also from UV rays – so you won’t have to worry about fading or discoloration.
Entry Level: Entry Level PPF is an old (but effective formula) that will protect your vehicle from basic blemishes. It is important to note that this PPF coating does not have the newer technology that protects from UV rays, so over time it will eventually discolor into a yellowish hue.
It’s easy to mistake PPF to be the same vinyl wrap, especially when there’s customization options involved. It’s important to note that PPF and vinyl wrap are NOT the same. PPF is actually considered to be superior – because not only are you able to personalize it to your liking, but its primary purpose is to act as a barrier of protection for your vehicle’s exterior.
At Tint Pros Platinum Auto Wraps, we offer PPF as a clear coat. This means that it does not change the original color of your vehicle’s factory paint. With that being said, you can change the color if you’d like! Our customization options allow you to have a unique experience, so your vehicle is protected and personable. Listed below are our customization options:
Color: Also known as “Fashion Film,” we offer PPF in a variety of different colors so you’ll be sure to find something that fits your style.
Matte: If you’re looking for a more sophisticated appearance for your vehicle, a matte finish is the way to go!
Gloss: The gloss finish is a simple way to elevate the appearance of your vehicle, as it provides a sleek look.
Not only are you able to choose the appearance of your PPF, but the choice is also yours of how much coverage you’d like. Whether you’re only interested in the partial hood being wrapped or the full vehicle, it’s totally up to you!
PPF will protect the exterior of your vehicle from potential damage, preserving your vehicle’s appearance and maintaining its value. Whether you want to customize your vehicle with a new color or finish, or keep it the same – PPF will protect your vehicle with its anti-contamination and self-healing technologies.
